Dapo Oyewole is the Director of the Policy Development Network (PDN). From 2011-2015, he was the Special Adviser to the Minister National Planning and later the Minister of State for Finance in the Federal Government of Nigeria, where his responsibilities included strategic planning, development policy, donor coordination and international cooperation. Prior to this, he was head of Policy and Strategy at ‘SPARC’- the UK Department for International Development’s (DFID) technical assistance programme in Nigeria. He has also served as the Director of the Centre for African Public Policy and Strategy (CAPPS) and also headed the International Office of the Centre for Democracy & Development (CDD), both in the UK. A regular analyst on African and international affairs for news agencies such as CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters and the Financial Times, he is known for his popular Ted Talk ‘Development as Dignity’. Oyewole is an alumni of the University of South Africa (UNISA), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); the School of Oriental African Studies (SOAS) and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is also a Yale Fellow, a member of the African Leadership Network (ALN) and a doctoral researcher at the Department of International Development, University of Sussex, UK.
