Deborah is a grassroots organizer and advocate in Kampala, Uganda. After surviving years on the streets as a teenage sex worker, Deborah started providing resources and healthcare for other sex workers. She founded and currently runs her own NGO in Uganda. She organizes workshops on sexual and reproductive health and rights and provides sex workers with HIV treatment and prevention. Deborah was accepted into the 2019 New Voices Fellowship but was unable to participate due to visa issues and has been accepted into the 2020 class.
