When I first met Jane, she was my guide in Kenya and and over the years, she has become a friend and an inspiration to me. Jane grew up in a slum in Kenya. When she was in her early teens, she saw many of her friends get pregnant and have to leave school. Jane was lucky – she had a mentor through her church community who encouraged her to stay in school, comforted her when her sister died of AIDS, and gave her hope for her future…
