1. Pashtana Durrani Recognized by UN as Noteworthy Young Activist

On December 2, 2022 Fellow Pashtana Durrani was recognized as one of six young change-makers working tirelessly for an inclusive and equal world as part of the 2022 Young Activists Summit, co-hosted by the United Nations. Watch a recording of the summit here.

2. Sathya Raghu Wins Worlds Most Prestigious Environmental Award

On December 3, 2016 Fellow Sathya Raghu and his organization Kheyti were awarded the world’s most prestigious environmental award, the Earthshot Prize. The award will help Sathya and Kheyti achieve their ambitious goal of distributing greenhouses to 50,000 farmers by 2027.

3. Renzo Guinto Named One of Ten Outstanding Young Filipinos

On December 9, 2016 Fellow Renzo Guinto was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men and Women of the Philippines in a ceremony attended by the President of the Philippines. Renzo was presented with “Plaque of Recognition Award” in the health and medicine category by The Outstanding Young Men 2022 Search Committee Philippines.

4. Desmond Jumbam Profiled in The Lancet

On December 10, The Lancet published a profile of 2022 Fellow Desmond Jumbam for a special issue on racism, xenophobia and discrimination in health.

5. Alice Ruhweza named as Green Champion

On December 19, 2019 Fellow Alice Ruhweza was recognised as a 2022 Green Champion in the category of the 2022 Africa Green Awards from Uganda.

Following his engagement at the UN Biodiversity’s COP15 Meeting in Montreal on December 8, Kevin was spotlighted by La Press as a youth environmental activist.
