Congratulations to New Voices Senior Fellow Esther Ngumbi for receiving the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Manu L. Bhaumik Award for Public Engagement with Science. This award seeks to recognize scientists and engineers who demonstrate excellence in their contribution to public engagement with science. As a New Voices Fellow, Esther has published more than 100 op-eds in mainstream media outlets while leading agricultural research to benefit farmers in sub-Saharan Africa and mentoring students from underrepresented groups in STEM.
