The Next Step: Three Great Guys From Africa Speak At TEDx Berlin

The world is moving, whether we like it or not. As individuals we have the choice to significantly change the world’s course through our decisions and the steps that we take. TEDx stands for ideas that inspire innovation and progress.

Sep 4, 2014 – Germany, Nigeria, South Sudan. On Sept 6th TEDxBerlin will host its next conference entitled The Next Step. Renowned speakers will put forward their propositions for the next steps in areas such as healthcare, aviation, arts and culture, energy, cities and more. Some will suggest subtle alterations while others will promote radical changes. Three of the speakers are from the African continent. Bisi Alimi and Utibe Effiong from Nigeria and Valentino Achag Deng from South Sudan.

Together they will paint a picture of where we are heading as a society and will inspire us to think bigger when it comes to the possibilities of our common future.

The event will be held at the CityCube Berlin on September 6th, 2014 from 12 PM -7 PM. Few tickets are still available in the TEDx Berlin shop and will include a pass to the IFA facilities (the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances).

Bisi Alimi, Activist from Nigeria

Bisi is Nigeria’s foremost gay activist and an Aspen New Voices Fellow on sexual orientation & gender identity. He came out as gay on a popular Nigerian television show in 2004. This brave action risked his education and his career. His declaration of his sexuality in his deeply conservative country almost ended his life.
